A special library of images created by the artist are combined and recombined by a application built into a computerized display,  to present randomly generated 'twins' of images, each lasting only a few moments.  Thousands of combinations will appear over the course of the exhibition, with each pair appearing only one time. If a viewer likes a particular pair, they can press a button built into the display to 'capture' the current pair and a print will be generated. Each print will be a one-of-a-kind ‘twin’, unique to that particular chosen moment, and titled with its own unique time code.  Once all combinations are generated, the application shuts down and the display is destroyed, leaving only the collection of prints viewers have purchased as the record of the exhibition. First exhibited at Feroz Gallery, September 13- November 8 2012 and Paris Photo 2012. All prints are unique photographs, in an edition of 1 each, plus an artist's proof. Also published as an artist's book of 70 images, entitled Flyover State, in 2010. From the introduction in the book: Idly staring away the time on yet another long flight, it’s easy to forget the supreme privilege flight affords us. The view from thirty-five thousand feet is certainly the most wide-angle lens most of us ever get to look through. One starts to see the landscapes below not as spaces but as pure texture and color. It becomes a tiny game to frame up the passing details in the LCD screen, with endless compositional possibilities morphing in the rising and falling light. The distance and atmospheric haze adds a pleasing remoteness that quiets the image. I try to imagine everything below as completely foreign. These are not aerial landscapes, rather sketches for impossible paintings. Dixie Speedway is one of many local racetracks across the southern US, In additon to being the main local weekend attraction, it is the first rung of the ladder for racers who wish to graduate into NASCAR, the huge American cultural force known worldwide.
